January 26, 2012 - The Faculty of Nursing has recently made the decision to offer provisional admission for Fall 2012 to students who are only missing the Medical Microbiology prerequisite, with the stipulation that students will take MMI 133 in the first semester of the program. Please contact the Faculty of Nursing for more information. Note: MMI 133 is not available at our Camrose site, however students could take BIOL 325 through Athabasca University to meet this requirement.

Deadlines

  • A complete list of University of Alberta deadlines is available in section 12 of the University Calendar.
  • The program in Edmonton has two intakes per year, Fall (September) and Winter (January).  The program in Camrose has one intake per year in Fall (September).
  • The application deadline is the date by which you must have your application form and application fee submitted to UAlberta.
  • The document deadline is the date by which you must have all admission requirements completed and all documents (i.e. transcripts) submitted to UAlberta.

Fall admissions 2012 (Edmonton and Camrose):

  • Applications are now closed (closed May 1, 2012)

Winter admissions 2013 (Edmonton only):

  • Applications are currently open
  • Application deadline: September 15, 2012
  • Document deadline: October 15, 2012
  • Health and safety requirements: November 1, 2012

Fall admissions 2013 (Edmonton and Camrose):

  • Applications will open in late July 2012, deadlines to be announced.

Application Process

Visit the Application Process section for a step-by-step guide.

Applicants may apply to both the Edmonton and Camrose program locations, but as a condition of admission the program must be completed at whichever location the student enrolls in; transfers between locations are not permitted.

  • Applicants who are current or returning UAlberta students pay a reduced application fee and therefore can only apply for one program per application.  These applicants can indicate on their application which location they would like to apply for, but must submit two separate applications if they would like to be considered for both Edmonton and Camrose.
  • Applicants who have not previously attended UAlberta can apply for multiple programs on one application and therefore can apply for both Edmonton and Camrose on the same application form, indicating which is their first and second choice.

Admission Requirements

Admission requirements are outlined below as well as in sections 14 and 15.11 of the University Calendar. Students are responsible for the completeness and accuracy of their registrations and for completion of the specified program requirements.

Early or conditional offers of admission may be granted to early applicants who meet eligibility requirements (refer to section 13.5 of the University Calendar).

The Office of the Registrar's grades section includes an explanation of UAlberta's current grading system as well as a conversion chart for those individuals who attended the university before the change from the 9-point to the 4-point grading system.

    English (3 credits)
    Psychology (3 credits)
    Statistics (3 credits)
